So tomorrow, I am going to pull the plugs out and examine them...like Scotty does. I will be installing new ones probably. '09 Honda Civic. I thought a 5/8" was the correct size, and I have tools, but my Dad has another set and told me to use his. His set has a spark plug remover, but it is 13/16"...can someone tell me the right size and maybe some tips? The last time I did this was 20 yrs ago. Thank you guys...so much.

Almost all car size spark plugs are  5/8 th...for the Honda I would use a spark plug socket with built in extension.

Change the spark plugs when the engine is cold to avoid ruining the treads.
