I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4 liter, automatic, 333,586 miles on it. The other day, I started it up,and it ran for a minute, then the gauges stopped working and the light indicated no chip in the key on the instrument cluster. I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes, and haven't had any trouble since. The terminals weren't tight, could that have been the cause? Also, is there a way to bypass the SKIM module if it returns. It actually runs great, and definitely doesn't look like a 333k Jeep, it's been very inexpensive to keep, even gets 21 mpg.
Well you might just have a bad ignition switch I've seen them do that but it is very hard to bypass those systems so if you want to just Google it and you'll see there are guys out there who sell kits that will work if you don't mind installing one yourself
