Hello Scotty, I have a second car, 2007, Mercedes C230, 17,000 miles (yes that is correct and is garage kept )  and you can smell a gas smell when I fill the tank above the half full mark. I saw your video on try a new gas cap and the evaporation valve being stuck open but could it also be needing a gas tank gasket needing replacement or something else for this model

waiting for answers as well, i'm having the same issue with my 2010 Toyota Yaris after few rounds of bad fuel pump replacements.

Hello @komodoris,
I'm curious, what went wrong in the fuel pump replacements?
I might be having a similar issue, and could use your insights on that.

@Neferati i had my fuel pump replaced/removed for at least 4 times last month, and some of them didn't use the correct tools. This problem suddenly started after the 3rd round, if i recall. As for now, it seems to be only vapors (a considerable amount), because i already tried to drive without the metal cover to see if it was squirting and i left the car running while i was there inspecting by hearing and taking a good look with naked eyes as well. Scotty's answer might be the best take for now, if you're able to find the product, instead of just start replacing the parts.

Well if it's ever been worked on the gaskets for where the fuel pump goes in off and will leak fuel and smell. Check for any type of liquid around there when you fill it up. My advice would be to put UV leak dye into the gas tank. They make it for gasoline and then see where the dye comes out
