Scotty, I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX V6 263,000 miles. I just replaced the throttle body cleaned out the EGR ports, intake manifold, and Replaced valve cover gaskets. Now there is smoke coming from the engine but my car isn’t running hot. Do you think maybe this is just burning off the excess carbon it’s not thick smoke just a little bit. And would i have to do the reset idle process for the computer because it revs to 2000 when in park but everything else seems to be fine.
I'm assuming that "smoke coming from the engine" means from under the hood, not out of the exhaust.
You may have gotten some oil onto the exhaust manifolds when you replaced the valve cover gaskets. If that's the case the smoke will stop when it burns off. Might be a good idea to check your work though to make sure the new gaskets are not leaking.
