Hello scotty,
I was driving on highway when suddenly my car Toyota vitz 2017 lost power and I felt big jerk. Engine light and traction light appeared on dashboard. I pulled off and checked the car physically. Everything was OK. I switched ON the car and everything was fine. Warning signs had disappeared . Drove around 180 km after that no issues at all.
Then suddenly next day same thing happened and this time I drove it to Electrician who checked it with scanner and it showed Cylinder 2 Misfire.
When he opened cylinder two. The spark plug had tip missing.
I wonder where the tip had gone? Will it damage the engine or has it already damaged it?
So far everything looks fine while driving. What should I do?
Hard to say without a compression check. Hopefully, it just blew out the tail pipe.
I wouldn't worry. Chances are good the tip simply blew out the exhaust valve.
Maybe check your oil once a week for the next month. If the level stays up, you're good.
Something that small may have just blown out with the exhaust but you'd need to inspect with a borescope and/or do a compression check to see if there's any damage.
