Hello! I have a 2017 Chevy Tranverse with a little over 47,500mi on it. We bought it used last year from a Chevy dealer and this year it started saying it was overheating. When we took it in (April '21) they said its not overheating and turned off the codes. Now this last Thursday (July '21) it came up it was overheating, would not exsellerate, made a werid noise, then started smoking. According to the dealer where we had it towed to a hose came off the coolent and ruined a part of the engine. Dealer says the car is not under warranty anymore but things i see online say it should be. They want over $9,000 to replace the engine but i really feel this should be covered? I'm unsure what to do.
Look up the details of the warranty to find out what exactly is covered for how long, what is excluded, and whether it only applies to the original owner. It sounds to me like the dealer really messed up the first time not properly diagnosing the problem and is doing their best to evade any responsibility and stick it to you.
