What is the difference between the NGK DILFR5A11 and the NGK Iridium IX LFR5AIX-11 besides price? Both are suppose to fit my 2014 Nissan Xterra but the owners manual specifies DILFR5A11 (which is more expensive).

They're both Iridium spark plugs. The DILFR5A11 are "Laser Iridium" supposedly last longer (less frequent changes), made differently and perform better than regular IX Iridium plugs.

Read the specifications on their website

The "Laser" model has a platinum ground electrode so it'll last much longer. (that's the part that usually erodes away first)

Hmm, I thought all iridium spark plugs had a life expectancy of 200,000 miles. I don't know if I'll still have the Xterra that long. But Nissan says to change the spark plugs every 50,000 miles. Anyway, I just want to make sure that I get the most reliable spark plug considering how difficult it is to replace them. Not only that, this will be the first time that I have to deal with COPs.
