I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan GSX with the 4.0l engine. It has 137,000 miles on it and I’m getting a P0740 code. It says it’s a torque converter or clutch circuit issue. It never shifted that smoothly (go Dodge), but it hasn’t gotten any worse that when it was new. The front tires seem to be wearing funny as well, so I wonder if this is possibly something that could be fixed without an entirely new transmission. I don’t know whether it’s worth fixing (I actually like the car when it runs) and I’d like your opinion. I did take it to a local mechanic who charged me $100 to tell me it has the code (which I already knew) and he said it was the transmission, but like I said it doesn’t shift poorly. Please help.

You might have issues with the front suspension. Take the car to a good alignment shop for that.
Regarding the transmission, find a pro to check the transmission and tell you more about it not just a code. You need someone to analyze the data from transmission.
That is the worst year of DGC
