Does the wires that connects to the spark plug coil have to match or can be match with any

Please be more specific. Are you talking about older vehicles with spark plug wires or are you talking about newer vehicles with coil on plug?

they need to be exactly the same because if they have a different resistance they will not fire all simultaneously in the correct milliseconds when you're going faster
