Follow your great info regularly and appreciate the help you offer to military families. I’m planning to buy a 2016-2019 Lexus GS F or a GS 350 F Sport. Worried about the F V8 tho, based on your maintenance cost comments and the Atkinson cycle. I like the added V8 power, but really want the bullet-proof reliability of the 350 V6. I plan to keep this car for many, many years. Please share your thoughts about my decision. Happy holidays and thanks.
I suggest go for V6. It is cheaper to maintain.
Then go with "tride and true" V6
Between the 2 vehicles you mentioned, there's really only 1 choice: GS F. That 5.0 V8 in that vehicle is what you want in a luxury vehicle, period.
Driving the 350 is driving ... less. Much less ...
Fear not the Atkinson, been around since 1882 and used in millions and millions of engines since, and simply increases thermal efficiency within the engine.
I agree with retoldpro, get the GS F.
If you want to just drive, get a V6.
If you want to smile every time you drive, get a V8.

Get the car with this combination:
V6 with 6 speed automatic transmission. This is one of the best ones with minimum maintenance. They are fungi drive since they have more than enough power for the cars.
