GSF with superficial rust rear differential

Hi Scotty,

I shipped a 2017 Lexus GSF from Virginia with 13,000 miles to my home in California. It was inspected by a third party inspection company (automobileinspections.com) in Virginia before I bought it and they gave it a clean bill of health except for some superficial rust on the rear differential. They said, living in California, the car rust would not progress much and likely never affect the function of the car. I tried to have my detail guy use Rustmort to remove it but he was worried it would ruin the gaskets and eventually create a leak. He also thought it was superficial and I should leave it alone as it will likely never affect the function of the car. I plan to drive for at least 20 yrs as a daily driver, that is parked outside at work but garaged at night. I just want to know if there is anything safe that I could or should do to prevent the rust from spreading? Or should I just not worry about it?

-Joe
