Hey everyone! I got a 1990 f150 and I have a radio/interior lighting that does not work.. So i of course went to the fuse box under the dash and checked the fuse for those things and what do you know a blown fuse. Well when I went to go and place a new one in the fuse sparked as I was placing it in and blew the fuse right away. Now the truck was also off completely when I went to do it so, what possibly could it be? and how to figure it out?
There's a short in that circuit you were working on. try unplugging the stereo, and removing all the interior bulbs, and then test the circuit again.
You should probably use a meter, or a test light so you don't have to keep buying more fuses.
I know that it is probably the radio because the original that was in the truck did not work at all so I went to the junk yard and found the exact same one in even better condition and put it in and it did turn on but did not receive a solid radio station and was extremely fuzzy.
