Hey Scotty,
WHy do newer cars have ridiculous top speeds on their speedometers. Who is going to go 160? And with a 160mph speedometer the range you drive in is so tiny.

I always took it as a marketing tool. People see the high numbers on the speedometers and thinks the car can go fast. Thus making the car more appealing, but the majority of cars are governed around 145mph if not lower.
