Split air intake hose

Hey Scotty - thanks for your wonderful channel. Learning so much from you and I appreciate the knowledge you share. I have a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid I bought new 20 years ago. It has 194K miles, is well maintained and everything works. My check engine light came on a few months ago. My mechanic was preparing to install a canister purge valve when the rubber air intake hose split at the base where it connects to the throttle body. He was unable to find a new or used replacement part and told me to get a new car.  Some sealant around the split sealed it temporarily. I have tried to find a replacement part online but without success. The car has some acceleration problems when it is hot going uphill after a stop or loss of momentum, sometimes barely advancing at all. A friend thinks my mass air flow sensor is not functioning properly. I hate to ditch the car when everything else is working expecially at this bad time to buy a new or used car. Woindering if you might have any advice? Thank you so much!

Maybe put together a suitable silicone hose as used for custom intakes?

Thanks - that is worth checking into!

How about this -

Thanks - They don't confirm this part fits a hybrid. I wish it did! Maybe I should order it and see if my mechanic can make it work...or maybe someone in the store could check into that. I bought an electronic copy of the mechanical manual - 3164 pages pdf, not searchable - have not found my part number in there yet.

What do you mean they don't confirm that it fits?  Just go to the websites that sell this and enter your VIN.  It either fits or it doesn't.
