Squealing wheel bearing

Hello Scotty and everyone,

I have an 08 Lexus GS350 AWD and it seems it got the case of a very LOUD failing front driver left side wheel bearing since yesterday evening 1/10/25. So that evening on my way to the gas station, I hit a 15mph speed bump on the road which launched the car into the air slightly, the car did came down a bit hard! I drove it to work today-1/11/25 and it seemed to have quieted down at higher speeds of 48mph on the highway but back home, it became increasingly louder when I exited the highway and rode slower on the streets-20mph to 25mph. Some really loud continuous squealing noises, very high pitch and piggy-piggish!

Should I replace both the front-left and right wheel bearing assemblies?

What are the best brands for the wheel bearing hub assembly?

RockAuto and PartsGeek have significantly cheaper prices, should I purchase from them vs Lexus?

Best regards,

Mike B.

Use OEM parts.

@chucktobias Thank you, should I replace both or only the one that is squealing?

You only need to replace the bad one but check the other carefully to see if it has any play or roughness starting. (The bearings don't necessarily both wear the same amount since it's possible for one to have had more stress, such as impacting potholes, than the other.)

@chucktobias Danku!
