I have a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse gt with 118k miles and when it’s cold outside my steering wheel fights me turning it and bumps back as well. It also makes a loud squealing noise. I had a new pump installed about a month and a half ago since it was leaking
The fluid is clean and full. Idk what a ps rack or ps fluid is, so idk if it’s good or not. Nice, it is a fun car

It sounds like you don't have any PS fluid in there and you want to PRAY that's not the case and it's full because if it's hard to turn the likelihood is something needs replaced if the fluid is full and clean and PS racks aren't cheap... Check the fluid and make sure that it's full if empty and you've been driving it around like that the PS rack is probably F'd. If you have to replace the rack look for a used on to try and save money. I love those cars btw that was my first car and the engine blew twice or I'd still have it.
