Hi Scotty, I have a 2001 Acura Integra sedan. I have a popping noise in when I turn the wheel to the right. I changed my entire suspension including the transmission but the noise is still there. I changed both axle shafts and the noise is still there too. What's left since I did everything? What other parts make this noise? Could it be bushings on the steering rack? I did everything I can. Please help!!!!!
It's the steering rack. You only change the transmission if there's clunking noise. Next time ask us if you're not sure what's the problem
I have some play in my steering rack. When I go over bumps, it makes sort of a popping noise. My mechanic said don’t worry about it yet, it can go awhile. If it’s in your steering rack and it’s not much play, it might be ok for thousands of miles still. Or maybe just change the rack if it drives you nuts, if that’s what it is.
You changed the transmission?
Yes I changed the transmission but the popping noise is still there. all I have left is the rear motor mount and steering rack bushings. I don't know what's left. I did everything.
I don’t know who suggested to change the tranny but next time you should pinpoint the noise first and then replace the part.
