Hey Scotty, I forgot to mention another problem I’ve had with my 98 GMC Sierra 1500. I have had play “more than normal” in my wheel since I’ve bought the pickup, which was about 8 years ago and since then I’ve had it aligned, both idler and pitman arm were replaced twice and I also have stuck a new gearbox in it and The problem was not eliminated, what could possibly be the culprit??

Check the steering shaft coupling. They can come loose over time.
