Hey Scotty and everyone, I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 with a 5.3 V8. It has 116,170 miles. The truck is in excellent mechanical shape. I’ve kept up with the maintenance as best I can. I’ve undercoated it every six months since I bought it but I live in eastern Ohio and the winter salt is starting to take its toll on the cosmetics. My bed sides are developing bubble rust roughly the size of a dime up to a nickle. My question is do you think it would be best to get the rust repaired before it gets worse since truck prices are up or should I start looking for a new truck? I got the kbb and I could sell it for more than I paid for it or break even if I trade it in. Currently I’m looking at a 2016 F150 with the 5.0 V8 it has 60,000 miles.
Thanks for reading and commenting!

That's a futile battle.
should I start looking for a new truck?
I think that's a personal decision that only you can make
factors to consider:
You say it's in good mechanical shape, so keeping it will cost you nothing. Can you live with the rust?
Do you really need a new truck? Are you in a presently in a good position to make a large purchase?
I would fix the rust and keep driving it. You took care of the truck and apparently, you don't have any issues besides the mentioned rust. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
