Stiff Steering Wheel

Hi Scotty,

I have a 2017 Honda Fit with an automatic transmission and 67000 km. The car has electric power steering.

A couple days ago I was teaching my wife how to parallel park, and the steering got very stiff after about 30 minutes.

I turned off the vehicle for about another 30 minutes and everything felt normal when I switched back on. However, after a few minutes of driving, the steering feels stiffer than usual. Now, whenever I drive, the steering wheel feels stiffer than usual after a few minutes of driving. Do you have any tips?

Well, there's no adjustments on that. It could be that the power steering motor starting to where they often do that, but realize this if you're teaching her how to parallel park and she's driving a car when you're not in it. If she hit curves like my wife did one time, you can bend suspension parts and then that will make the steering get stiff. So you might check the front end first, especially the front passenger side. That's the one that usually hits curbs

Hey Scotty,

Thanks for the advice. The front end is in good condition.

The car battery is now dead, will have to replace it. Maybe the battery was one of the reasons for the problem. I will see what happens after I have the battery changed. If I still have the problem, I will get the power steering motor changed.

Once again, thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it!!
