Stiff steering

Hi! I got a Honda Civic 2011. The steering feels okay when at idle and during a drive. But when I try to reverse all the way to the right, the steering wheel feels very heavy. It only happens when reversing

Your power steering pump is weak.

It happens only to the right side. Like when turning the wheel to the left then suddenly reversinf awhile truning the steering wheel to the right. It is really stiff. But it is smooth when at Drive or at idle

Do you (or other forum participants) know if it is electric or hydraulic power steering? I'm thinking that it is electric power steering, which means that is where to look for the problem. Unassisted steering is always harder at slow speeds, so the sensors/power assist motor may be marginal.

Hydraulic power steering

I also noticed that the steering returnability when turning to the right is a bit off. You need to bring it back to the center more compared when turning to the left

I would take the car to a mechanic and have him check the power steering system. You may have some issues with it, either the pump or some valves.

Have you checked the engine and transmission mounts? Could be that one or more binds up just right when you put it in reverse and turn right.
