Few questions hope can get an answer. When I put my car to storage should I change the oil before or after goes to storage. Son BMW are in storage and not going to drive the car at all. Do I have to change the oil and filter every year ? even not driving it And for storage. Do I have to start the car every month to operation temp or just leave till April. I puck in the Battery 24/7. 2011 BMW Z4 and 2015 MW M4 only drive from May to Oct. I chage oil and filter before I took the car out (May) and I drive maybe under 4000 km and I leave the oil inside the engine till I took the car out again. Oil Using OEW BMW oil and filter. Both car part insie the garage
2014 435xi is my son car and I change the oil and filter and not going to drive at all. Since he work from oversea now. Car park on driveway with 2 car cover and moving branket in between them..

You want clean oil with minimum moisture in it for winter storage.
Do use a fuel stabilizer in a full tank (less room for moist air to condense)- I've had good results with cars, bikes and boats using Sta-Bil, but I'm sure there are other good choices.
It would not be a bad idea to start the cars stored outside and get them up to operating temp once a month, but in my experience it's not compulsory.
