[Solved] Auto mode on headlights trips a warning sign on dash after replacing headlights on 2014 Lexus IS350 f sport

Hello there again Scotty,

I replaced my headlights on a 2014 Lexus IS350 f sport, when starting the car depending if it is dark or bright outside the auto mode we all know determines to turn them on or off and leave just the DRLs. When the computer turns them automatically on because it is dark outside the right(passenger side) one stops working, the DRLs stay on and the left one(driver side) also on. If i twist the lever for the headlights to put it on manual ON mode and then back to auto, it fixes the problem, all drls and both headlights start working normally.  There is also a warning sign on my dash whether they are working or not saying " Check headlight unit". What could be causing this? Reason i replaced them is that the same one on the right was starting to deteriorate and when it rains water was getting into it and at some point it completely stopped working.

Thanks in advance

Well one yet to replace both headlights together or the different electrical flow can often cause problems like that. Number two you must use factory OEM ones and not aftermarket ones. They may have a different resistance and cause that. And number three. If there was corrosion it will either have to clean or replace the connector that the bulb goes into because that changes the resistance going to make that happen
