Hey Scotty been a fan of your videos for a really long time and it is finally time for my teenage self to get my first car, I am looking at an automatic 2014 Lexus IS350 base model with 78k miles on it from a private dealer and I have negotiated the price from 23k to 20k. I used an OBD scanner and the codes were fine and there were no negative codes. I had a mechanic check it out and he didn't jack up the car but he used a bright flashlight to inspect all around the car and inside the engine bay. He told me that the car is in good condition and there are no problems with the engine, however, he said it is priced too high. I tried looking for other deals and there are none at 20k for a 3rd gen IS350 with a decently low amount of miles, they are all priced at 23k and above. Do you think the car is worth buying and what else should I inspect before I seal the deal? Thank You!
that's almost new car price with warranty.
How about a 'yota 'rolla?
I would suggest you buy a manual car less likelihood of having transmission related issues ( more robust ) especially in a used car, plus since you are a new driver you should learn to drive properly from the start otherwise you get used to the automatic and never pick up the skill to drive manual.
Good advice here.
