I have a 1993 F150 351w automatic with around 220,000 miles. Its RPM gauge needle goes crazy but the engine doesnt go with it. Sometime it idles normal then goes down to 200 then back up, others it will cut off mid idle or drive. Ive replaced the ignition module 2 times in the past year and ive cleaned the IAC plus checked the fuel pump. I dont know what else to do. Thanks.

Well if your RPM needle goes crazy up and down to the engine isn't going up and down and you obviously have some type of ignition system problem. Now if the idle goes up and down on the RPMs and the engine is also going up and down that's another story that can be a slipping transmission all kinds of things
