Stuck VVT Solenoid

Hey Scotty, thank for all of help.

I'm working on replacing the VVT solenoid on a 2009 Chevy Trailblazer.  The solenoid is extremely difficult to get dislodged. I thought it was supposed to just pop out. I've tried shaking, pulling, twisting,  and even prying at the monting plate. I was able to get 1 or 2 mm clearance at the mounting plate with a screwdriver,  but that's it.

Any recommendations to getting this solenoid out?

Thanks

Back again. VVT Solenoid still stuck. I've tried hand pulling, penetrating oil every 2 - 3 days for a little over a week, prying with a pry bar at the retaining plate, and using vice grips on the body of the solenoid and prying with pry bar; nothing has worked. The solenoid still spins, but will not dislodge.

get some penetrant or spray silicone oil in there to lubricate the bore.. the 0rings will bind on the dry bore.

@hogdoctor
Thanks. How long to leave the penetrant on?
