Scotty; Love your common sense and humor!!
My wife has a 2012 Legacy Subaru. 120k miles. Recently she/we started noticing a intermittent shudder when at very low speeds or when stopped.
She recently came hoofing home after getting a multitude of warning lights ultimately attributed to a loose gas cap. Anyway, to reset the error code and extinguish the lights, I disconnected the battery. Now, the intermittent transmission shudder is gone.
Does the transmission computer reset with a battery disconnect the battery?

The shudder was probably due to an EVAP system problem solved with the gas cap properly installed. Unless you get a deep scan that shows a transmission problem.
