Hello Scotty,
My 1999 Toyota Sienna has 290K miles right now. The Van starts to have sudden acceleration when I step on the pedal about a month ago. It may happen one of every ten times. It only happens when it is on low speed or full stop then go. I cleaned the throttle body, but the problem didn't go away.
When the issue occurs, the acceleration will last about 1 or 2 seconds, then go away. But it is scary when I park the car, the van can suddenly accelerate by itself. So, help! Thanks!

I think Toyota had a recall on this. It's a defective, electronic accelerator pedal.
