I have an old 2001 Rav4 (FWD) and while the thing runs well, the radio is terrible. Scotty talks of these Android replacements, however when I search I see many (my very rudimentary knowledge of Chinese helps, as they seem to be marketing to Chinese and Russians) I am leery of the ones I have looked at as reviews terrible on many and I am not sure how complex of a replacement this would be.. has anyone had experience with these on an old Rav or would you have particular brand or model? Not looking to spend a ton of course, like Scotty I am a cheapskate.
Thanks.
yeah I feel you there with Chinese made Android radios but I found that most of the ones on Amazon that are 150 bucks or so are pretty well made. I have a pumpkin one and it works quite well
Thanks Scotty. A dumb question, is the radio wiring standard or do I have to cut/join a new adapter?
I’d recommend you take a look at the Crutchfield website. Decent prices and they in many cases send the adapter you need at no charge. That means no splicing wires just plug and play. They’re a little more expensive than what you’d find on Amazon but you also get lifetime tech support.
Thanks.
