- Hello, my Honda Odyssey 2000 EX with 257k miles is idling super rough. I took off the air intake hose and cleaned as I could the throttle body still attached to the engine part with crc throttle body cleaner as best as I could with the plate open, still looks a bit dirty as it has some black sludge? Around the plate.
- Then I sprayed/cleaned the MAP sensor with crc MAF spray cleaner and put it back together. I also noticed that the air hose intake was a bit torn so I bought a replacement from autozone and put it back together.
- Now the problem is that once I start the car, I can hear air? flowing through like if there was air coming out of the inside but there isn’t any visible tear or holes punctured that I can see so it might be inside?
- Then the RPM revs up from 1k to 3k and continues like that on park and neutral with 1.5k to 1.9k on drive/reverse. I am afraid to drive it as I haven’t driven it yet and don’t have a scan tool to tell me exactly the problem/code.
- Can anyone please help me determine the problem and what the solution is as this never happened until I “cleaned what I could” on the throttle and MAP sensor.

Check all the vacuum hoses and make sure you put all them in place. Then check for vacuum leak. You could use a smoke machine for that.
