Okay is it  true do you need to have suv or mini van in your household when starting a family in texas...

Idk my girlfriend and dad were telling me I need to buy suv before getting married

I only have two cars

Civic type R (my main car)

Fiat spyder Abrath (my weekend toy)

My gf has

Honda accord

And updated on Fiat Spyder

Yeah wheel barring was broken I changed both from driver side coze it got hit from there cost me literally nothing because dealer said he did but I had proofs of two mechanics they said you didnot and we were taking it to court but instead he fixed it lol XD

Agreed thanks for your help guys

My dad and girlfriend told me it was a law and I was like no way.
I literally told them it was a marketing strategy

There really isn’t a hard and fast rule. SUV/minivan just makes lugging around a family and cargo easier. But if you can manage with the 3 cars you have, then you should be fine.

That what I have bad been trying to tell my dad for last two weeks
Thank you
But he saying if I have kidsin future for that I gotta buy suv or mini van. But I don't even drive that fast unless it track or highway.

It's ok to accept input from others, but make your own decisions. Some of the biggest regrets I have in life come from decisions I made due to outside influences and advice.

You don't need an SUV or a minivan unless you want one. If he wants to buy you one, fine. But the person who pays the bills makes the rules. You do you.

What's the rush? I know it's the American way to buy stuff you don't need and don't particularly want, but really. You have two 4 door cars, that should do just fine. When you start needing more space, you'll know it.

Does your father want you to get a 4 bedroom house so you have room for the kids you don't have yet? A cabin by the lake so he can take these future kids fishing? Started a college account for them yet?

There is no law that says that you have to buy one. It is up to you to decide if you really need one. While they are young you very well may not need one. When they are older you may decide that you need one but you may decide that you don't, you never know.

I'd use what you have for now, and buy a bigger car later if you find out your current ones are too small.

Even a Corolla or Fit would do just fine for a small one. After you get 4+ passengers on board, you yourself would like to get a larger car. I'm in a family of 5 and could barely fit in an SUV so my dad bought a minivan with 3 rows. Much better for roadtrips.

Honestly the Accord should be fine in size for <4 people.
