Hi Scotty,
What will you buy overall, A brand new Rav4 or a Brand New Camry XSE. Is hybrid better?
Thank you,
Tamusciat
It all depends on which you need more, and only you can answer that. But they are all good choices. If you go hybrid, new is better than used and also if you don’t plan to go past 150,000 miles. Personally, I would always go for a non-hybrid over a hybrid so that down the line I am not dependent on a hybrid specialist for repairs (=$$$$) (for battery, generator, rest of hybrid system, etc.).
I would go Camry XSE non-hybrid.
The camry xse in the v6 is a ton of fun when I test drove one. It has a ton of features, looks amazing, and drives extremely sporty. This truly isn't your grandma's camry. The rav4 feels really cheap for my liking as it always has every generation, although the interior quality is getting better. The xse camry is almost like getting into a lexus, it is sort of a nice "in between" between toyota feel and lexus feel.
Nice. May I know the difference between 4cyl and V6 XSE in terms of gas mileage. Thanks
The 4 cylinder gets pretty nice gas mileage at 27 38, and the 6 cylinder also gets great gas mileage at 21 28. The 4 cylinder already has good power and will be better in the city, the v6 is a more fun racing type vehicle.
I’d personally go for the Camry but if money isn’t an issue, go for the RAV4. Only reasons I chose a Camry over a RAV4 or any SUV are because of gas mileage and price. I love SUVs and trucks way more than sedans but I’m cheap (not Scotty level cheap) and the Camry is “good enough” for me anyway.
I would get the Camry.
