SUZUKY 2008 XL-7 MAINTENANCE ISSUES

Hi Scotty,

I have a 2008 XL-7 Suzuki SUV that I bought in 2010. Don't drive it a lot, it has 67500mi (bought it with 34,500) I have just changed the coils about a month ago (surprising as they are Denso, and only 67k) I am thinking of changing the Coolant and the transmission Fluid (Drain and Fill)

My question is, should I change the thermostat as well, when changing the coolant? I'm uncertain as this is inside some sort of enclosure and I do not want to mess anywhere near the timing chain, as I have read that timing chain breaking is a common problem with these cars (also sunroof leaking, which I now have as well).. I just need it to last a couple more years when I will get a new car.

Thanks, and Love your videos (I was actually thinking of cleaning the Throttle because i saw one of your vids, and the car is already 13 years old; but before I could, car acted up, engine light on, and after I took to the mechanic, he said "just a dirty throttle"...I thought it was the coils again (behaved similarly)

The thermostat is a real pain to change out as it's attached to the water pump at the bottom, left front (driver's side) of the engine.  Mine is on a '03 Chevy Tracker and I have changed out the coolant twice without touching the thermostat.  Works fine.

if you don't know how old the thermo is, yes change it and have peace of mind
