Hi Scotty, I’m trying to remove my sway bar mounting bolts on my 95 Ford contour gl. The trouble is everything I’ve researched says I have to drop the front subframe, I was wondering if I would have to remove the control arms to do so or if I could just lower the frame a bit just to make clearance to get at the bolts. Hoping it won’t damage any other components of the suspension
I was wrong and shouldn’t have loosened that bolt for the subframe to the body because now I can’t tighten it back up.. so anyone have any ideas please
Bump
But sometimes I have a pretty good luck dropping the subframe and getting to stuff but realize there's a blind welded nut on the other end and if you strip that you're screwed
Thanks so much Scotty for replying I ended up doing that and had to take it to a shop to fix the frame bolt because as you said I screwed myself loosening it. I did my driver side after fixing the passenger and now I’m have trouble lining up the bracket with the hole, I tried loosening the other side but I rounded the nut due to it being rusted on tight with no room to get any vice grips on it so not sure what to do now
