Good day Scotty and thank you for all the car advise and tips. I have a 1999 Mazda Miata at 165k miles and happen to notice that the upper radiator hose has swelled-up by the radiator connection. There are no codes at this time, and no high temperature indicators either...but i suspect the radiator might be faulty. What do you think?
Your upper hose is about to fail. when the engine is running, it should be hard.
REPLACE IT NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!
If it pops while driving you will lose all your cooling and blow your head gasket!
been there, done that!
no kidding!
Good to know. Thanks for your answer. So, no need to replace the radiator?
Old hose is getting ready to split open. No codes because hoses don't have any sensors to detect that condition and no high temperature because it hasn't burst yet. If your hoses are original now would be a good time to replace them all.
Thanks a lot for your input. So is it okay not to worry about the radiator?
If the radiator is not clogged and not leaking there's no need to replace it.
change the hose. Change the pressure cap. Go from there.
