My father and I were changing the oil of my tacoma for its regular maintenance and my father drained the transmission fluid instead of the engine oil by mistake, we managed to put it back in the transmission with a hand pump before even turning it on and we haven't noticed any issues so far. Is there anything I should worry about or am I good to go?

As long as no dirt or debris got into the trans fluid you should be OK. However I would have just gone ahead at that point and bought fresh fluid.

The transmission needs oil changes too, if you want it to last. Just like the engine. Make sure you always provide the vehicle details in the instructions. That way we can provide you the most accurate help.
