Scotty,
I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma. Several years ago, I had the fuel pump replaced. The garage told me they had to drop the fuel tank to replace the unit.
Eversince, when I fill up the tank, the automatic pump shutoff will not cut off the fuel flow and frequently the tank will overflow. When I questioned, the garage recommended that I stop it manually. I am a little tired of getting splashed.
What is the problem and how do I fix it. Yes I no longer patronize that garage.
Thanks for you help. I really enjoy the channel.
That's unusual. Usually, people have problems with the pump shutting off prematurely.
The garage must have done something funky with the vent system. Try positioning the nozzle further in or out of the filler neck.
Did they mess with the filler neck/EVAP system? Are they damaged? Maybe have an independent mechanic check it out.
Sounds like a fire hazard every time you fill up..
