Hi Scotty, I love your videos. I just got a new Tacoma 2022 and I turned the key after it was already running. Is the bad, it was only once.

One time does not hurt it but do not attemp it again.

When you do that, the teeth on the starter are trying to engage the teeth on the rings gear while it's spinning and the two will eat each other up, necessitating the removal of the transmission to replace the ring gear and a starter replacement. $$$$$$$

Nah its fine, just a few teeth on the flywheel & starter grinded. It amazes me that modern cars dont have a protection for this, I mean hell my 22 year old car doesn't even let me do this
