Hello Scotty, I love your show. I purchased a 2005 Tacoma 6 cylinder with 169K miles in excellent shape to pull an rv, it had a hitch but I ran the harness for the electric brake because I could not locate a factory harness. I added a trans cooler including a fan, do you suggest adding an engine cooler, power steering cooler and also what do you recommend to raise the rear end because it drops a few inches when the rv is connected? Thank you
By "engine cooler" I assume you mean an oil cooler. Generally speaking oil coolers are more for high performance, turbocharged applications. It cant hurt, so you will have to decide for yourself if an oil cooler is a necessary upgrade for your particular use. Give the fact the truck is a V6 and it sounds like you are working it pretty hard it might be a good idea. If I was hauling cars across the country on a regular basis I might be inclined to add an oil cooler (for example). The general consensus for towing larger capacity with a half ton truck is to add air bags to the rear suspension. There was once a time when people would add a leaf but air bags have become less expensive and more value added.
