Hey scotty.
I own a 2004 infiniti fx35. My tag lights went out the other day. I replaced the tag lights with the recommended lights. They worked before but now they wont come on. I for the love of god, can't find the fuse for the tag lights. Please help me.
Fuse 71 in your engine compartment fuse box #1.
But if your side marker lamps and tail lamps are working the fuse isn't the problem.

The circuit operation is complex because it incorporates the BCM, CPU/ and IPDM. If you want to read how it works here's a Link:
But all that isn't an issue because if the tail lights and side marker lights are working then the tail lamp relay coil is being energized by the computer and the license plate bulb sockets should be getting power.
It's time to grab a test light and test those license plate bulb sockets for Power AND Ground.
When you pull out the license plate light bulbs the sockets will look like this:

Using a test light, with the vehicle's light switch ON, test for Power on one side and Ground on the other side of each individual socket.
Those license plate lights are close together and it's likely they share the same Ground connection on the body and it may be corroded/broken.
Here's the circuit if it helps. I highlighted in Yellow the Tail Lamp Relay and the 2 License plate light sockets.
Sounds like it’s Fuse No. 71 in the #1 Fuse Box, in the engine bay, for the Licence Plate Lamp -
