There was a TSB that may apply to your model year. Here's the pdf link and a couple of screenshots.
Since your computer is setting the U0100 code you may want to begin with inspecting the wiring from the ECM in the engine compartment (page 10 of the TSB). Inspect and lightly push on and then lift small sections of the harness loom away from any metal engine brackets and other metal parts (small sections so you can narrow down where the problem is if it's shorting out or has a broken wire in the loom.) and see if you can duplicate or rectify the problem.
Check all chassis grounds coming off of that harness for breaks inside of their wiring insulation (tug on the wires lightly).
Check the actual Ground Points where those wires attach to the chassis under the hood and make sure there's no corrosion or looseness.
Other than that, follow the instructions in the TSB which apply to the code.

- Well it's a communication failure called so you want to check all the wiring from the battery cables back to all the connectors and where the computer plugs into the wiring harness somehow it's got to communication fault. And unfortunately can be anything from a short a bad sensor to a bad main computer good luck
