Hi,
Have had numerous notifications from Toyota concerning my airbag recall. Have read many post concerning Toyota dealerships completely screwing up the dash and console to get to the recalled airbag and replace the part.
I understand all dealerships are not the same but I have cause to believe the mechanics in my location are not automotive technicians but rather grease monkeys.
Have no problem with the recall and replacement but I will not chance someone screwing up my 4runner.
I'd rather have a Japanese guy or gal fix it as they built it originally!
What are my options?
Thanks!

Take pictures, tell them what you expect before they start. Remember you are there because of them not because you did anything
Can you drive to a dealership out of your city, which you know does good work?
Oh, cool your jets! They won’t screw up your 4Runner, …
Anyway, if you really, really feel that insecure, why don’t you just ask - most politely - a service manager of a dealership if you can watch some other 4Runner being retrofitted? If he/she refuses, … than you perhaps have a point. But if she/he says sure, be my guest, … you probably meet a nice service person, … treating customers cars with respect.
… just a suggesshun,
F.S.
Thanks, Sounds like that may work!
I would at least want to talk to the person performing the work.. can tell alot about a person that way!
