Good evening,
i have a 2016 buick lacrosse w/65,000+ miles. The Transmission fluid was supposed to be changed at 45K miles but wasn't, is 20K miles too late to change the fluid and i should leave it alone now? {black}:idontknow:
What does the fluid look like and is it shifting fine? Also, what does your owner’s manual say? But at 65,000 miles you should be fine to drain and fill (along with filter change if applicable). From this point onward, make sure you are on top of the ATF change intervals. I’d go for every 40,000-50,000 miles (unless your owner’s manual has the intervals even shorter than that).
Also see here to become more familiar:

60k in my opinion is general rule for tranny fluid changes. You should be ok.
There generally is no "Too Late" with changing fluids that should be changed. if you leave it unchanged for too long it may burn the transmission innards (I forgot which parts would get burned but you wont be shifting.) ty day for mentioning this, kinda tired.
