Temperature gauge

Hi Scotty, Elantra 2015, 115Km, I noticed leak in the upper radiator hose. I replaced it with new one. The car temperature is high and the gauge never go down. It's on normal position by the way, but I feel the car temperature is too hight. What could be the problem?

I never had overheating issue before, I make maintenance last year replacing cooling water, thermostat and radiator cap.

Is it in the normal operating  temperature range? If so, that is normal. You can have too cool of an engine, and that affects your emissions. Your car must be made to run more rich (more fuel is running rich, less fuel is running lean). If it's running perfectly between hot and cold, it's fine.  Mechanical engineers designed your engine, not yourself.

If the temperature gauge is reading in the normal range what is your basis for believing the engine is running too hot?
