Hello Scotty;

Having issues with the 160 amp alternator charging. when starting cold the battery light will come on, drive it for 1/4 mile, put the truck in park shut it off, count to five and restart the truck and the alternator light will stay off no matter how many times you start it after. I took your advice and bought a Blue Driver, after the setup and performing the first scan I was given a code of P063A Generator Voltage Sense Circuit. after digging a little deeper I discovered there are many causes for this issue. the big one is the PCM or the ECM. I am wondering if there is there a common cause for this. I'm in Canada and our cost for parts are scary. PCM start at $500.00 upto $1500.00. what is your experience with this issue?

Thank You

the truck is a 2011 Ram 1500 SLT with a 5.7 L engine

I would examine all grounding connections first, for looseness and corrosion.
