Hey Scotty,

In April 2020 after alot of research decided to by a 2010 Mercedes E350 4matic German manufactured i used bluedriver diagnostic tool to check the car and knew the car was 10 years old woth all its original parts. Paid 5,000 and after replacing all of the serpentine components and having mercedes do a full service on the transmission i am 2,000 in. Yes i have been able to find very reasonable aftermarket parts for it. But now i am finding myself always having to heavily modify the car. I just replaced the starter only to find out my ignition is bad so i hard wired a switch in to resolve the issue. My question is the key still signals the transmission so i can start the car should i just run a push to start button and keep running the starter that way or should o just replace the ignition module and pay for all the reprogramming that comes along with it? I know you have warned about these electrical issues but the car runs great. I got it with 100k and i have put 57k on it since April. One more question i have to modify the car once again my blinker you know the infamous twist and lock one that gets power from the headlight housing it doesnt make contact and i want to bypass it and wire it into the main harness my issue is there are no videos on ot and how can i find the blinkers wires?

Thanks for you time,

A Novice mechanic

Of course you're better off with the wiring diagram to do the blinkers I use all data DIY myself

But if you want to try to change the module and have somebody reprogram it I wouldn't try to bypass it with switches and things those things are so complex over how they start and how the starter runs I tried doing it one time but the car never ran right because it messes with the computer system just simply putting in a remote start button.and really you're proving what I always say those things are endless money pit junkers as they age every single customer I have that have bought one ended up hating the car
