Hi I am looking for advice which car would be reliable and fast with ok gas mileage. Over all a fun car with low maintenance.

What is "fast"? At what budget? How old should the car be? As far as recent generation cars:
If you have plenty to spend, the Lexus IS500 (472hp, 0-60 in 4.4 sec)
A popular choice is the Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 (228 hp, 0-60 in 6.6 sec)
In case you're looking at used cars,
The 6th generation Lexus ES V6 is reasonable (268hp, 0-60 in 6.9 sec)
And although it's NOT too great, The Infiniti G37 is often much cheaper (325hp, 0-60 in 5.3 sec)
If you're looking for cars that are genuinely fast, forget about reliability and efficiency.

I have serious doubts about the longevity of a turbo (20 psi boost) 3 cylinder engine that’s pushing 300 horsepower…
I'd take my chances with an ISF, but they don't come with a manual transmission. The GR brand of Toyota made a Mark 10 with the Lexus IS350 engine in it that was a manual though. I suppose anything from Toyota GR kinda goes into "fast car" territory.
