Hi, I've been vacillating for over a year now on whether to purchase an 11-12 Avalon. I love the style of these particular years and remind me of a kind of Japanese land yacht. My current vehicle is a 07 Marquis with under 100 K and well-maintained. It's mainly a highway cruiser these days. I've been told by most to keep what I have as I know what the history of the car is and such. The question I'm asking is: Considering the age of the vehicle and it's Lexus roots, do you think it's going to be expensive in repairs and such? It was considered state of the art during it's time and had push button electronic ignition as well as many state of the art features which I imagine will be expensive to repair if something goes out. Sorry for the long message. Thanks, Joe
Well it has under 100,000 mi. The only real problem that some of those had were leaking power steering racks which you would have to replace if it's leaking. Easy to check to see if they're leaking. You just squeeze the boots and fluid comes out there leak and then you'd have to replace that.
