Hi Scotty! My co-worker is selling is 2010 Ford Ranger 4x4 V6 with an automatic transmission. It has 132,000 km (I'm in Alberta, Canada) and I know many of them are highway kilometers because he drives on the highway to get to work.
The ford dealership said they would give him a trade-in value of $11,000, but my co-worker says he would sell it to me instead if I match their price. Is this too much to pay for this vehicle? Thanks!
Americans - $11,000 CAD is currently about $8,800 USD 🙂
That's too much, generally they are worth a few grand. I say if you can get it for maybe 8k max then make sure to have your mechanic to an inspection first to see what it needs and if its a good buy.
Check out 7:19 here though

If you do decide to buy it, make sure to have your mechanic check for common problems like these.
Okay cool, thanks for the advice! Just want to make sure you saw that it was 11,000 Canadian, not USD?
Yes I did, I just put a basic price of 6000(ish) USD which is around 8k CAD
Scotty just put out a video on these rangers. I’d check it out on his channel.
Wow good timing! Thanks, I'm a few days behind so I had not seen it yet
