So the 3V 4.6L V8 Mustangs can last a long time, especially if you are just using it as a cruiser. They are easy to work on and parts are readily available and cheap.

That's actually a good buy at the $5000 price point. I may offer $4000 to try and settle on $4500. Save you some money for a good exhaust, you know? {black}

Definitely get a clean title one though. Too many have been wrapped around trees and rebuilt only to have all kinds of problems. Also, have a mechanic check it out and pay attention to the cam phasers as they are a known issue. If the spark plugs have never been changed, you'll want to do that as well as they have a poor two-piece design. Be extra, extra, EXTRA careful when removing them so you do not break them in half, but once you have swapped over to single piece plugs you're good to go. The manual transmissions were practically indestructable, so no worries in that department.

If it checks out, go for it. They are fun cars to drive and have a great retro design.
